One of the most revolutionary features (for MakeMusic) in contemporary Finale is the active linking of score and parts, quite a leap from the old days of extraction, extensive tweaking, and printing. While any new order can stumble initially, smart users should look for ways to keep working during transitions. While Finale 2008 is not yet in wide adoption (possibly due to its requiring OS X 10.4 on the Mac while many of us are happy with 10.3.9), careful checking with its listing of new features and bug fixes shows that some issues are still a problem with this newest version.
